The affordable alternative to a high-paid Board of Directors”

Overview

Established in 1990, The Alternative Board® facilitates monthly peer advisory boards comprised of local owners, presidents and CEOs who run non-competing businesses. Each month members gather to share experience and solve challenges to grow to the next level.

TAB Boards® consist of presidents, CEOs, owners and managing partners of privately owned businesses. The boards of up to 10 members each meet monthly under the guidance of a TAB-Certified Facilitator/Coach. TAB Board members operate in a confidential, "think tank" atmosphere where they can present challenges and opportunities to one another for seasoned, practical advice from other owners. Board members also receive monthly one-on-one hour-long private coaching sessions from their facilitator/coach.

Because no one lays claim to the member’s business, the result is no-holds-barred feedback and a sounding board for best business practices.

Each facilitator/coach has extensive top-level business management experience and many have active consulting practices. Facilitators serve as executive coaches, guiding members through planning and development processes and moderating boards.

More than 250 TAB-Certified Facilitators/Coaches now conduct monthly board meetings across the United States, Canada, UK and South America. Since its inception, thousands of businesses have benefited from the TAB process.

TAB membership provides valuable features:

Monthly TAB Board Meetings

A sounding board for ideas and a think tank environment that generates affordable, practical business advice and realistic solutions you can use immediately.

Private Coaching Sessions

You will meet one-on-one with your TAB-Certified Facilitator/Coach, to prepare your TAB Board meeting topics and explore significant business or personal issues for which you might benefit from executive coaching.

Why TAB?

Small to medium-sized businesses fuel a large portion of business across the globe. One of the challenges facing many of these business leaders is the lack of practical, seasoned advice. These businesses can use peer advisory boards to gain insights and solutions from professionals who can speak of similar situations through first-hand experience.

TAB Board meetings focus on practical solutions to your opportunities and challenges. This allows sharing of over 200 years of each board's collective business experience. Together, TAB Board members and TAB-Certified Facilitators work to create, implement, adjust and stay on track to achieve owners’ personal and business success goals.
